In 2010, Spain was suffering from a severe drought. Meanwhile, Spaniards were alarmingly wasting water.

To raise public awareness about this problem, we made people believe that the life of an enormous Galapagos turtle depended on how much they knew about saving water.

We created a website that showed a 24-hour live video of the turtle living inside.

The level of water was constantly lowering, and citizens were the ones who could avoid it by answering correctly questions about water awareness and different ways of saving water.

It was all a trick.

The turtle wasn’t a huge Galapago but rather a tuned up tiny turtle. The aquarium was really inside a studio, not in the street and the aquarium billboard that everybody wondered where it was, in reality was an optical illusion.
